Happy October!

I am sad this month, as I lost one of the most important people in my life at the end of September - My Granny!

I know we all love our grannies, but this woman was SPECIAL! I wouldn't be where I am today without her love, support, kind-heartedness and just her ability to give me grace when needed.

She was a small business owner, like me, and taught me everything I know about running a small business. I remember working for her during my summer vacations - sometimes getting up at 4am to be in the office on-time and have everything ready for the employees when they arrived.

She lived a full life and even outlived most of her children, but above all - she gave to those in need. She helped with words of advice, money, time, or whatever else was needed. She was a true inspiration for me and a lot of others, someone that will be hard for forget and could never be replaced.

Based on the above, I don't have the capacity to write anything witty this month - try back next month and I will have more. :-)

LIFE INSURANCE MYTH vs TRUTH:

Myth: "I have life insurance coverage through my employer, so I don't need an additional policy."

Shout out to all valley residents in Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, Scottsdale, Avondale, Goodyear, Surprise and all those I didn't list - including those at Arizona State University, GCU or MCC.

Tez Adams is a native of Little Rock, AR, but has been a resident of Arizona since 2013. He is married to Janet and they have one son, Joshua in addition to Winston – their Goldendoodle. As a family, they enjoy spending time with one another traveling and giving back to their community in various ways. Joshua is now college freshman (Forks Up!) - so I guess now we are supporters of Arionza State University Sundevils!

Tez has over 20 years of insurance and financial services experience and has served in various leadership roles in the industry and community alike. The past 18 years of his career has spanned several states with State Farm Insurance. Tez is a Tempe Leadership – Class 36 alum and currently sits on the Tempe Leadership Council. He is actively involved in the Alumni Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Alpha Epsilon Sigma.

Tez can often be found supporting his community through numerous volunteer opportunities. He holds a Master’s in Insurance from Olivet College, The Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Associate in Claims (AIC)designation from The Institutes and a Bachelor’s in Finance from The University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He is licensed in property and casualty, life, and financial services products.
